Well winter has truly arrived in the Sierra Nevada. Two big dunps of snow in the last couple of weeks has put a good base of snow on the tops of the range, which should now last through to early Spring. The ski resort of Pradollano is having a bumper start to the season; a big contrast to the meagre snowfalls of recent years.
I would have hardly thought this to be possible in this part of the world. And the early onset of winter is a big change compared to our first winter here where we were sunbathing in January. It has rarely gone above freezing all day for the past few days and the night-time temperatures are regularly drop down to -5 to -8 degrees in our village. Not bad considering we can see the north coast of Africa from our garden on a good day.
